Youths of Mbar Ward Denounce Ex-Lawmaker Solomon Maren’s False Claims of Achievements.
Youths of Mbar Ward in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State have publicly challenged former lawmaker Solomon Maren over his recent claims of achievements during his eight-year tenure in the House of Representatives. Maren, who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserted that he initiated numerous projects across his constituency, including roads, health facilities, youth empowerment programs, and employment opportunities.
In response, a youth group called ‘Concerned Youths for Good Governance’ vehemently refuted Maren’s claims, describing his time in office as a “disaster” with no tangible achievements. The group accused him of attempting to rewrite history by falsely attributing projects to himself, including a hospital project in Magi Community, which they clarified was executed by former lawmaker Hon. Lalu. They emphasized that during Maren’s eight years in the National Assembly, Mbar Ward was largely neglected, with no significant development, empowerment programs, or investments.
The youths further criticized Maren’s political tactics, alleging he relied on deception, such as bringing road construction machines only during elections to mislead voters and removing them afterward. They pointed out that Maren does not even own a home in Mbar, despite representing the area for nearly a decade. The group praised the current administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang, highlighting notable developments like the renovation of GSS Mbar, the Mbar–Magama road project, school rehabilitations, boreholes, youth empowerment, and improved security. They dismissed Maren’s claims about the Mbar Town Hall as false and poorly executed, symbolizing his failure and neglect.
The youths called on Maren to stop spreading falsehoods, asserting that the people of Mbar have seen through his deception. They reaffirmed their support for Governor Mutfwang, emphasizing their commitment to truth, accountability, and genuine progress for their community.
