Victor Osimhen surpassed the 50 goals milestone as he scored a brace to help Napoli defeat 3-0 Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of their Champions League tie on Wednesday night to progress to the quarter-finals.
With the goals, it took his season’s goal tally to 23 in 27 matches across all competitions, and he also became the first Napoli player to ever score in both legs of a Champions League knockout game.
Meanwhile, in the other Wednesday fixture, Karim Benzema scored the only goal as Real Madrid piped Liverpool 1-0 at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium to complete a round of 16 double over a familiar foe.
Napoli, on the other hand, have now reached uncharted territory, making the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club’s history thanks to an amazing performance against Frankfurt, and three goals over two legs for Osimhen.
