The legendary Gospel artiste and minister history is a little vague to some of her audience. From the time of correspondent to a full-time Gospel minister, Tope Alabi has been a work of wonder.
Tope Alabi was born on 27 October in Lagos State but as an indigene of Yewa, Imeko Afon to be precise. She was born as the only daughter into the family of Pa Joseph Akinyele Obayomi and Madam Agnes Kehinde Obayomi. When she joined the choir in her local Catholic church at the age of seven. Tope has the ability to produce different traditional and modern beats.

A lover of education, Tope attended and obtained her West Africa School Certificate at Oba Akinyele Memorial High School, Ibadan; thereafter proceeding to The Polytechnic Ibadan where she studied Mass Communication and graduated in the early 1990s.

After her graduation, she worked as a correspondent at NTA (Nigerian Television Authority) in Ibadan.
Tope Alabi was formerly a member of the Jesters International comedy group. She later worked with other popular traveling and stage theater groups in both Ibadan and Lagos. She made films in the Yoruba film genre of Nigeria. Tope Alabi later changed her focus to gospel music after she became a born-again Christian. Over the years, she has grown from the local church chorister to a widely received gospel artiste and minister.

She evangelises through her music and also relates most of her lyrics to real-life events. This allows all and sundry to relate better with her song, while she wins souls along the way.
Aside from being a gospel singer and minister, Tope Alabi sings soundtracks for movies, giving a serene and conceptual feel of such a movie to the audience.
Some of her works include but are not limited to the following: Ore ti o Common (2001), Iwe Eri (2003), Moriyanu, Agbelebu (2011), Oruko Tuntun (2015), Spirit of Light (TY Bello) (2019), Yes & Amen, and many more.

Married to Mr. Soji Alabi, she is blessed with beautiful children.
