Born on the 11th of August, Ayo Adesanya hails from Ijagun, Ijebu in Ogun State. She attended St Anne’s School in Ibadan where she completed both her primary and secondary school education. She later proceeded to the University of Ibadan where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Mass communication.

Ayo is a creative and talented Nigerian film actress, director, and producer, who has not only appeared in Yoruba movies alone but also in English-language films. Ayo Adesanya began her acting career as far back as 1986 after she completed the compulsory National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC). However, she joined the industry fully as a professional in 1996. Her professional acting started with her appearance on Tunji Bamishigbin’s soap opera titled Palace.

She has since then gone to feature in many movies such as Omugwo, Suga Suga, and Mokalik, among others.
Through her creative way of interpreting her role, she has been able to bring joy as her name, to her viewers.
Many love her for her motherly role in movies. She has also enjoyed much recognition for her work and craft.
