Members of Odeda Local Government Area in Ogun State have appealed to the state government to rebuild their only health centre which was built in 2007 and collapsed recently. The facility served six Community Development Committees which had over 100 communities each.

The Chairman of the Ifedara-Opeji CDC, one of the affected communities, Dapo Wahab, said the facility, before it collapsed, served five other communities. Wahab said medical workers had to leave the structure when it started collapsing.

The communities had been seeking help from the state government beginning from the administration of a former governor, Gbenga Daniel, but nothing was done. It is important for the state government to take action and rebuild the facility as soon as possible to improve the healthcare system in the area.
