LASU Student, 2 Drivers Killed in Tragic Ogun Auto Crash

 

In a devastating incident, a 26-year-old undergraduate student of Guidance and Counseling at Lagos State University (LASU), Ademola Ayinla Timothy, lost his life in an auto crash in Ogun State. The unfortunate accident occurred while Timothy, accompanied by Sorunke Emmanuel, 28, also a LASU student, was en route to Tai Solarin University of Education in Ijebu-Ode on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. Tragically, two other drivers involved in the crash, Rasak Olayinka and Kelechi Nwagu, also lost their lives.

According to the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Omolola Odutola, the accident involved a Geon truck, a Toyota Sienna, and the Lexus car in which Timothy and Emmanuel were traveling. Preliminary investigations conducted by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ikenne Division SP Oladepo Olarinoye, revealed that the driver of the Lexus car, Sorunke Emmanuel, was driving recklessly and collided with the fast-moving truck, bearing registration number LAR 730 XB.

This tragic incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of road safety and responsible driving.
