In a historic visitation to the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Adetona, Governor Dapo Abiodun reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to preserving the rich history and cultural heritage of Ogun State.

The governor assured the royal fathers and the Ijebu monarchs based in Lagos State that his government would invest in programs and initiatives that celebrate our history, empower the traditional institutions, and promote cultural diversity.

Governor Abiodun emphasized the significance of culture as a catalyst for social cohesion, economic progress, and socio-economic development. Recognizing that the traditional institutions are deeply rooted in the history, ancestors, culture, customs, religion, and values of the people, he affirmed Ogun State’s dedication to fostering unity and collaboration among all ethnic groups.

“We understand that culture is a venture of social cohesion, economic progress and socio-economic development. Our traditional institutions are simply built on the history, ancestors, culture, customs, religion, and values of the people.

“For us in Ogun State, we remain committed to fostering unity and collaboration among all various ethnic groups in the state so that together, we can overcome the challenges and achieve remarkable progress in all sectors.” The governor said.
