In response to the Federal Government’s directive for a low-key Independence Day celebration, the Ogun State Government has announced the cancellation of all arrangements for the anniversary on October 1st, 2023.

The decision aims to reflect the nation’s mood and prioritize solemn prayer for the country. Governor Dapo Abiodun and his administration strongly believe that the collective supplications of the people during this crucial time will be answered by God.

Signed by Tokunbo Talabi, the Secretary to the State Government of Ogun State, the announcement emphasizes the importance of unity and faith in the face of challenges. The cancellation of the celebrations is a symbolic gesture, highlighting the need for reflection and prayer to overcome the nation’s current difficulties.

The Ogun State Government urges everyone to join in solemn prayer, believing that through unity and divine intervention, brighter days lie ahead for Nigeria.
