Super Eagles’ captain, Ahmed Musa, is rallying Nigerians to throw their weight behind the team’s pursuit of a fourth AFCON title at the upcoming 34th edition in Ivory Coast, slated from January 13 to February 11.

Nigeria finds itself placed in Group A alongside hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, and Equatorial Guinea, setting the stage for a challenging yet promising campaign.

Amidst concerns over the team’s preparation, heightened by a recent 2-0 loss to Guinea in Abu Dhabi, Musa, in an exclusive interview with NFF TV, delivered a heartfelt appeal. Encouraging fans not to waver in their trust, he stated, “Everybody is excited and waiting to go to Abidjan. We’ve set the goal to shine since the campaign began, and we believe in the squad’s quality. Despite the uncertainties in football, we’re confident.”

Expressing the coach’s shared ambition of clinching the AFCON title, Musa emphasized the pivotal role of Nigerian support. “I just want Nigerians to believe in the team; with their support, we can go far.”

As Musa and Ahmed Musa stand on the brink of history, potentially becoming the first players in Nigeria’s football annals to secure AFCON victory twice, the Super Eagles are poised for their tournament opener against Equatorial Guinea on January 14 at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan.
