Operations Manager of BON Hotel Nest in Ibadan Succumbs to Heart Attack Following Explosion

In a devastating turn of events, Mr. Tunde Solomon, the Operations Manager of the renowned BON Hotel Nest in Ibadan, has tragically passed away due to a heart attack. The shocking incident unfolded shortly after an explosion occurred in close proximity to the BON Hotel, where Solomon dedicatedly served.

 

The explosion, which occurred on Tuesday, January 16, at Dejo Oyelese Street in Ibadan, resulted in a tragic toll, claiming more than three lives, injuring over 77 individuals, and causing the collapse of around 20 houses. The aftermath of this catastrophic event deeply impacted Mr. Tunde Solomon, leading to the heart attack that claimed his life.

 

The hotel management conveyed the sorrowful news through their Instagram page, paying tribute to the late Operations Manager as a selfless and committed professional who had devoted over 25 years of his career to the hotel industry.

 

The hotel’s official statement reads: “We regret to inform you of the sudden passing of our beloved Operations Manager, Mr. Tunde Solomon. Mr. Solomon suffered a heart attack on the 17th of January 2024, and it is believed that it was a consequence of the explosion that occurred on the 16th of January 2024 at Bodija.”

 

Mr. Tunde Solomon’s extensive experience, spanning more than 25 years, was acknowledged by the hotel management, emphasizing his significant contributions to the growth of BON Hotel Nest Ibadan and the broader BON group. The loss of Mr. Solomon is described as leaving a void that will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

 

The hotel management expressed heartfelt condolences to Mr. Solomon’s family during this challenging time, extending thoughts and prayers as they navigate through the profound grief caused by this unfortunate incident. The untimely demise of Mr. Tunde Solomon serves as a somber reminder of the human toll resulting from unforeseen tragedies and their far-reaching impact on individuals and communities.
