Akarigbo Palace to Host Live Viewing of Super Eagles’ AFCON Semi-Final Match

The Akarigbo Palace has been chosen as one of the accredited viewing centres to watch the live broadcast of the Super Eagles’ Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final match.

The highly anticipated clash between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and South Africa’s Bafana Bafana will take place on Wednesday, February 7th, at 6:00pm. The decision to host the viewing at the Akarigbo Palace was made in support of the national team, with the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, giving his approval.

In a statement released by the Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, football enthusiasts, supporters, and members of the public were invited to join in the captivating experience of cheering on the Super Eagles at the Akarigbo Palace.

The viewing centre at the palace is expected to provide an electrifying atmosphere for fans to enjoy the match. This initiative not only allows residents to watch the game free of charge but also serves as a prelude to the upcoming 22nd National Sports Festival, known as the ‘Gateway Games 2024,’ which will be hosted by Ogun State later this year.

“We extend a warm invitation to all football enthusiasts, supporters and members of the public to join us for an exciting and captivating experience, as we cheer on our beloved Super Eagles in this pivotal match”.

“Let us come together to enjoy the electrifying atmosphere of live football at these venues, as we also prepare to host the entire country later this year for the 22nd National Sports Festival tagged, ‘’Gateway Games 2024″, the statement stated.” The statement partly reads.
