The Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is set to deploy more than 900 personnel for a special patrol during the Easter period to ensure a smooth celebration.

Sector Commander, Mr. Anthony Uga, confirmed in an interview with reporters in Ota, Ogun State, that the special patrol would commence on March 29 and conclude on April 2, covering key routes in the state.

Uga disclosed that both regular and special marshals had been mobilized for the exercise, focusing on controlling traffic congestion, addressing vehicle breakdowns, and promptly responding to emergencies, particularly road accidents.

To enhance emergency response, patrol vehicles, tow trucks, and ambulances have been strategically deployed along major highways, including the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Benin-Ore Expressway, Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Road, Abeokuta-Ibadan Expressway, Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway, and Ota-Idiroko Road.

“We are appealing to motorists to adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations and reduce their speed, as speed has been a major cause of road crashes,” Uga emphasized, urging against dangerous practices like wrongful overtaking and driving against traffic flow.
