Highway Horror: Bandits Strike, Torch Luxury Bus in Ogun
Armed bandits unleashed terror on travelers Friday night, intercepting an Abakaliki-bound luxury bus on the Ijebu Ode-Ore-Benin expressway in Ogun State. After robbing passengers, the assailants set the bus ablaze, leaving survivors traumatized and stranded.
The Ogun State Police Command, through spokesperson Omolola Odutola, confirmed the chilling attack via social media. At Oke Ado junction in Ijebu Mushin, the bandits targeted a luxury bus from Maza Maza, subjecting its 59 occupants to a harrowing ordeal.
After stripping passengers of their belongings and locking them inside the bus, the criminals set it alight. Miraculously, passengers escaped through shattered windows before the flames engulfed the vehicle entirely.
Ifesinachi Transport Nig. Ltd, the bus company, expressed shock over the incident, highlighting the escalating danger along major highways. Survivors, in a distressing video shared on social media, recounted the terrifying experience and loss of possessions but expressed gratitude for their survival.
