4th Edition Egg & Chicken Fiesta Holds at Akarigbo Palace for Remo 2026 Poultry Exhibition
Farmers, industry experts, and stakeholders gathered at the Akarigbo Palace on March 24 and 25, 2026, for the Remo 2026 Poultry Exhibition, tagged the 4th Edition Egg & Chicken Fiesta.
The event, hosted by Anuoluwapo Awode with Otunba Lekan Okemakinde (Lekkymore) as Chief Host, brought together major players in the poultry and agriculture sector.

Royal fathers and dignitaries were also in attendance. Oba Musiliu (Radanua of Idado), who represented Oba Dr Babatunde Adewale Ajayi(The Akarigbo of Remo land) was present alongside Oba Obayomi Sunday Olatunji and Oba Dr Adebayo Ojulowo. Other guests included Alhaji Yinka Lawal, Dr Ajibola, Mr Babatunde Ashimi, Mr Ope Agbato, Otunba Olusegun Onabolu, Mrs Olawode, Mrs Abimbola Odunawo, Mr Yomi Ebeneza, and Dr Adesin from Gateway Polytechnic and other dignitaries.
The programme began with an opening prayer by Mr Fajobi, followed by a welcome address from Mr Babatunde Ashimi. Chairman of the event, Mr Fidelis Nworu, in his speech, spoke on poultry production, the need for unity, and its link to academic performance. Alhaji Yinka Lawal also gave his remarks as State Chairman.
A major highlight of the event was the lecture by Dr Taiwo Adeoye on the theme “Addressing the Protein Gap and Food Security through Efficient Poultry Production.” He explained that low protein intake can lead to poor health and slow growth, especially in children. He encouraged more people to go into poultry farming, noting that it can be started at any level.
He also listed key challenges facing poultry farmers, including high cost of feed, poor infrastructure, limited access to funds, and smuggling. He called for the use of modern technology and increased feed production to improve the sector.
Speaking on behalf of Oba Dr Babatunde Adewale Ajayi (The Akarigbo of Remoland) Oba Musiliu highlighted the importance of better poultry production, storage, and distribution. He also encouraged people to seek support from the palace when needed.
Goodwill messages were delivered by Dr Opeoluwa Agbato, while Mr Taiwo Adegboyega from First City Monumentary Bank (FCMB) educated participants on how to access special intervention funds and loans.
The event also featured an exhibition tour led by Alhaji Omisanya, where royal fathers, dignitaries, and guests visited different stands. Company representatives showcased their products and services to attendees.
Dr Folusho Alabi, another speaker, described the fiesta as a “call to action,” urging people to consume more protein. He noted that eggs remain one of the most affordable sources of protein and encouraged farmers to adopt new technologies.
During the lecture sessions, Dr Odukoya Adekola spoke on efficient poultry management, especially in hot and wet climates. He explained the importance of proper housing, ventilation, feeding, and record keeping for better productivity and profit.
Mrs Folusho Akanji also spoke on disease management in poultry production. She advised farmers to avoid using poor quality materials or unverified feed formulas and stressed the importance of proper nutrition.
The event ended with closing remarks by Mr Fidelis Nworu, a vote of thanks by Mrs Olawode, and a closing prayer by Alhaji Femi Gafau.
Guests were later treated to refreshments, music, and a lively atmosphere.
