4th Edition Egg & Chicken Fiesta Holds at Akarigbo Palace for Remo 2026 Poultry Exhibition

Farmers, industry experts, and key stakeholders converged at the Akarigbo Palace, Sagamu, on March 24th and 25th, 2026, for the Remo 2026 Poultry Exhibition, tagged the 4th Edition Egg & Chicken Fiesta.

The event, with Mr Babatunde Ashimi as the Host, while the State Chairman of Panog; Alhaji Olayinka lawal as Chief Host, was anchored by co-masters of Ceremonies, Anuoluwapo Awode and Otunba Lekan Okemakinde (Lekkymore). It brought together major players across the poultry and agricultural value chain.

Companies in attendance included Tomas Rogby Nigeria Ltd, Adamore Nigeria Ltd, Apple and Pears Ltd, Turner Wright Ltd, Chi Farms Ltd, Priority Poultry Services, First City Monument Bank (FCMB), New Hope Agric Tech, ADM, Springfield Agro, Kewalram Chanrai Group, Sunseed Nigeria Ltd, Fartep Konsult, Josack Agro Allied Nigeria Ltd, Allwright Investment Ltd, Animalia Farm Services Ltd, Animal Care Services Konsult Nig Ltd, Biacom Agro Allied Ltd, Agricare STD Plus Ltd, Cornerstone Feeds and Concentrate, Dutrion Resources Ltd, Provider Wire Weaving Industries Nig Ltd, Provider Farms and Poultry Equipment Solution, CF Feed, and Dutron Resources Ltd.

Royal fathers and dignitaries also graced the occasion. Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile (Radanuwa of Idado), who represented Oba Dr Babatunde Adewale Ajayi (The Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland), was present alongside Oba Obayomi Sunday Olatunji, the Alado of Ado, Sagamu and Aare Dr Adebayo Odunowo. Other notable guests included the State Chairman of Panog; Alhaji Yinka Lawal, Dr Ajibola, Dr Ope Agbato, who represented the Chairman of Remo Growth and Development Foundation in person of Otunba Seni Adetu, Otunba Olusegun Onabolu, Mrs Blessing Alawode, Mr Yomi Ebeneza, and Dr Adesina, the Head of Agriculture Department of Gateway Polytechnic, and Asiwaju Dr Taiwo Olusanya as the Chairman Organising Committee of the event, amongst others.

Proceedings on the first day commenced with an opening prayer by Mr Fajobi, followed by a welcome address delivered by the Host, Mr Babatunde Ashimi. In his remarks, the Chairman of the event, Mr Fidelis Nworu, the MD of Agricare Ltd, Ibadan, emphasized the importance of poultry production, unity among stakeholders, and its connection to improved academic and economic outcomes. Alhaji Yinka Lawal, in his capacity as State Chairman, also delivered goodwill remarks.

A major highlight of the event was a lecture delivered by Dr Taiwo Adeoye on the theme: “Addressing the Protein Gap and Food Security through Efficient Poultry Production.” He noted that low protein intake contributes to poor health and stunted growth, particularly among children, and encouraged increased participation in poultry farming at all levels.

Dr Adeoye further identified key challenges facing poultry farmers, including the high cost of feed, inadequate infrastructure, limited access to finance, and the impact of smuggling. He advocated for the adoption of modern technologies and improved feed production systems to strengthen the sector.

Speaking on behalf of the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile underscored the importance of improved poultry production, storage, and distribution systems, while encouraging stakeholders to seek support from the palace when necessary.

Goodwill messages were delivered by Dr Opeoluwa Agbato, while Mr Taiwo Adegboyega of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) enlightened participants on accessing intervention funds and loan opportunities tailored to agribusinesses.

The first day also featured an exhibition tour led by Alhaji Omisanya, during which royal fathers, dignitaries, and guests visited various stands. Exhibitors showcased a wide range of products, innovations, and services within the poultry industry.

In another session, Dr Folusho Alabi described the fiesta as a “call to action,” urging increased protein consumption. He highlighted eggs as one of the most affordable and accessible sources of protein and encouraged farmers to adopt innovative practices.

Dr Odukoya Ajibola spoke on efficient poultry management, particularly in hot and humid climates, stressing the importance of proper housing, ventilation, feeding, and record-keeping to enhance productivity and profitability.

Mrs Folusho Akanji addressed disease management in poultry production, advising farmers to avoid substandard materials and unverified feed formulations, while emphasizing the role of proper nutrition in maintaining flock health.

Activities continued into the second day with another strong turnout of stakeholders, students, and guests at the Akarigbo Palace.

The day’s proceedings began at about 11:00 a.m. with an opening prayer led by Alhaji Omisanya Shittu, who conducted a Muslim prayer, setting a reflective tone. This was followed by the recitation of the national anthem and the association’s anthem, reinforcing unity among participants.

Notable personalities were recognized, including Mr Adewale Adebayo of Sagamu Microfinance Bank and Dr James Babawageti, who represented Dr Bolaji Alao. Other dignitaries in attendance included Alhaji Yinka Lawal, Mrs Adebiyi, Mr Babatunde Ashimi, Dr Ajibola Odukoya, Alhaji Olushola A. Ogunleye, Mr Ahmed Alli, Alhaji Femi Gafau, Engineer Segun Idowu, and Mr Adeoti, a teacher from Babcock.

Students from Babcock University High School were also present, adding an educational dimension to the exhibition as they observed and engaged with practical aspects of the poultry industry.

A major highlight of the second day was the series of technical presentations delivered by industry players, including SoftCodes International Limited, Dr Olayitun Oladiro of IFF (International Flavors & Fragrances), Dutrion, and Sunseed Nigeria Limited, among others.

Another key presentation was delivered by the Chef of Nandas Hotel, an establishment owned by HRH Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi Torungbuwa II. The session provided practical insights and emerging trends within the poultry and food production value chain, capturing the attention of participants.

Overall, the exhibition served as a vital platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and advancement within the poultry sector, reinforcing its role in addressing food security and boosting agricultural development.

The event concluded with closing remarks by the Chairman, Mr Fidelis Nworu, a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs Alawode, and a closing prayer by Alhaji Femi Gafau.

Guests were thereafter treated to refreshments, music, and a lively networking atmosphere, bringing the successful two-day event to a memorable close.
