Otunba Gbenga Daniel Host Choristers For Second Edition of Annual Choir Festival   

The Asiwaju of Remo christians, Otunba Gbenga Daniel today 30th of April 2023 hosted different choral groups for the second edition of annual choir festival, which was held at the Abraham’s Terbanacle church, Sagamu, Ogun state.

The Asiwaju of Remo Christians choir festival is an annual gathering for choral performances by various church choirs, choral groups within and outside Ogun State, South-West, Nigeria.

 

The Choir Festival programme started about 16 years ago as part of the family programme of Otunba (Engr.) Gbenga Daniel at the International Ecumenical Worship Center.

 

The second edition started at about 12 noon, and was graciously anchored by Yemi Shodimu, an iconic actor and entertainer in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

 

Choir groups from different churches including Great Remo Charole from Sagamu, The New Wine Ensemble Viva de Chorale from Ibadan, Abraham’s Tabernacle Choir From Sagamu, The chamber Music Charole from OOU, De Emeralds Choir from Akure and seven observing choirs.

 

Otunba in his speech appreciated God Almighty for his grace, thanking men of God both the Christian and Muslims for their stability in preaching the word of God Almighty to youths and people who needed it.

 

Positions and prizes were given to the six participating choir group with the first position won by New Wine Ensemble going home with 2 million naira presented by Otunba Gbenga Daniel himself and “Ubanjigi Duniya” as their choir anthem.

 

The second position won by Viva de Chorale from Ibadan with the sum of one million naira presented by Aare Emmanuel Adetola. Third position won by The chamber Music Charole from OOU with the prize of seven hundred thousand presented Revd Abimbola Esther Ajayi and Mrs Jokotade Oluwaremilekun Odebunmi.

Fourth position to Great Remo Charole from Sagamu and a prize of four hundred thousand presented by Oba Taiwo Taiwo the onipara of ipara. Fifth position to Abraham’s Tabernacle choir from Sagamu with the prize of three-fifty thousand presented by Oba Abayomi Banjo of Ojo and the sixth position won by De Emeralds Choir from Akure with the prize of three hundred thousand presented by Oba Bode Mustapha-Paramount ruler of Egba land and one of the judges Prof Kayode Oyesiku.

 

In attendance are dignitaries, royalties including the former governor of Ogun; His Excellency Ibikunle Amosun State represented by Tunde Awonuga, Barrister Talabi Adekitan representing Dr Taiwo Afolabi SIFAX Group chairman, Rev. Engr Adeolu Olanrewaju Odusote, and many others.

 

The 2023 annual choir festival from the Abraham’s Tabernacle church, Sagamu ended with a closing prayer from Revd Abimbola Esther Ajayi.
