Abiodun Pledges Continuity, Infrastructure Investment at Ogun Budget Town Hall

Ogun State Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Ogun East, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has reaffirmed his commitment to infrastructure development, economic growth and the completion of ongoing projects.
He spoke at a town hall meeting in Ijebu-Ode on the 2027–2029 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and the 2027 state budget. The gathering brought together traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders to discuss priorities and contribute to the budget process.
Abiodun highlighted Ogun State’s investment prospects, including the proposed $7 billion Gateway Deep Sea Port and Ogun Blue Marine and Special Economic Zone, as well as the proposed $10 billion Ogun LNG project. He said these initiatives, alongside the Federal Government’s Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, could strengthen the state’s position as an industrial and investment destination.
The governor also outlined his administration’s development record. He cited the construction and rehabilitation of more than 1,700 kilometres of roads, alongside interventions in education, healthcare and agriculture. He also pointed to ongoing electricity infrastructure projects.
With preparations for the 2027 budget underway, Abiodun said the government would focus on completing existing projects, providing essential services and sustaining economic growth. He encouraged participants to take an active role in setting budget priorities and said their contributions and requests would receive due consideration.
The governor further stressed the importance of maintaining development efforts beyond his tenure, saying his administration was committed to consolidating its achievements and ensuring that ongoing projects are sustained.
The meeting combined public consultation on the state’s fiscal plans with discussion of infrastructure and investment. Abiodun’s remarks on continuity also came as he pursues the APC nomination for the Ogun East senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 elections.
