Ogun State Government Assures Repair of Oba Lipede Market After Rainstorm
The Ogun State Government has promised to repair the Oba Lipede Ultra-Modern Market, Kuto, Abeokuta, after a rainstorm destroyed roofs and goods worth millions of naira last weekend. Dr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, gave the assurance during an assessment visit to the market in the company of Hon. Razak Daddah, Chairman, Ogun State Market Development Board.
Aikulola stated that the government would move into action immediately to repair the damaged portion of the facility for continuity of trading activities within the affected area. He also assured the affected traders that the Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has the interest of the people at heart, especially market men and women.
One of the affected traders, Mrs. Evelyn Oloyede, pleaded with the government to quickly fix the damaged portions so as to prevent the effect of the damage from spreading to other parts of the market. Aikulola also appealed to traders at the market to avoid the affected areas to prevent any form of domestic accident which could lead to injuries. The Ogun State Government has consistently demonstrated its commitment to the welfare of its citizens and has always responded to issues affecting the people.
