IGP Commends National Assembly for Passing Police Pension Board Bill, Training School Establishment Bill

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has praised the National Assembly for the passage of the Police Pension Board Bill and the Nigeria Police Force College, Training School and Institution (Establishment) Bill. The IGP described the passage of these bills as a milestone achievement that will have a positive impact on policing in the country. The bills will standardize the training capacity of the Force, enhance police productivity, and address recurring pension-related hardship.

The IGP stressed that the establishment of the NPF Pension Board and the removal of the Nigeria Police Force from the Contributory Pension Scheme is a welcome development that will be resourceful in addressing the plight of Police retirees. He commended the efforts of well-meaning Nigerians for their support and concern towards the passage of the bills, which in no time will definitely attract the assent of the President for their full implementation.

The Police Boss acknowledged the doggedness and resilience of the National Assembly in the passage of these critical bills. He also commended the steadfastness and patience of the retirees on the age-long battle of the pension palaver and assured that all hands are on deck to make the bills a reality.

The passage of these two critical bills is a significant achievement that will redefine the act of policing the country. It will standardize the training capacity of the Force, enhance police productivity and address the reccurring pension related hardship. The IGP has assured Nigerians that the Police Force is committed to the full implementation of these bills.
