Tragedy Strikes: Man Drowns While Visiting Ogun Community with Friend
A somber mood enveloped Eyinwa community in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State as Sunday Ogah tragically drowned in a river on Saturday.
According to Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, the incident was reported by Otusanya Abayomi of Igbe Ilara, who recounted that he and his friend Sunday had arrived in the community together. However, Sunday inexplicably left their group to an undisclosed destination.
Subsequent reports revealed that Sunday had ventured to swim in Eyinwa River, where the unfortunate drowning occurred.
Efforts to locate Sunday’s body proved futile despite the deployment of surveillance police officers and divers. The community remains in mourning as the search for his remains continues.
Expressing condolences to Sunday’s family and loved ones, the State Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun, affirmed the command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring public safety and averting such tragedies in the future.
