Hon. Sanya Odubona’s Funeral Scheduled to Hold on Friday

The remains of the late Honourable Solomon Olusanya Odubona, a former member of the Ogun State House of Assembly representing Ikenne State Constituency, and former Minority Leader of the house will be laid to rest on Friday, 23rd August 2024.

This was contained in a funeral arrangements released by the family and signed by the eldest son of the deceased, Aare Olajide Anthony Odubona.

According to the funeral plans, the late lawmaker and the former Agbaakin of Iperu, and the Otun Balogun of Idena, would be interred at his residence, Mogunsen Court, Sewolu Quarters, Iperu Remo, after a burial/thanksgiving service that will be held at the St. James’ Anglican Church, Sewolu Street, Iperu Remo, while guests will be entertained at the Christ Apostolic Grammar School Hall, Iperu Remo.

Today, Wednesday, 21st August, 2024, a Service of Songs will be held in his honour at his residence by the Men’s Fellowship, St. James’ Anglican Church, Iperu Remo.

On Thursday, 22nd August, 2024, his body will leave the morgue for a Lie in State event at the Ogun State House of Assembly Complex, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, by 10.30 am, while the Christian Wake/Night of Tributes holds thereafter at his residence in Iperu Remo by 4pm.

Born on the 25th of April 1948 into the family of late Pa Raji Fadipe Odubona and late Deaconess Alice Gbeminiyi Odubona, Hon. Olusanya Odubona died on 7th June 2024 at the age of 76.
He is survived by his wife, Chief Mrs. Titi Odubona, the Fiwagboye of Iperu, and Yeyemeso of Idena, and children.

A member of the Chartered Institute of Supply, London, and the British Institute of Management, Hon. Odubona served as Head in various Purchasing and Supply Departments of the Electricity Corporation of Nigeria (ECN), which later became the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA), before he retired in 1991 after twenty-three meritorious years.
