The award according to the body of principals of Secondary schools in the gateway state, is in special recognition of JOSEPH’S laudable and philanthropic gestures to the development of schools in Iperu, and by extension, the educational growth of Ogun State.
Speaking shortly after receiving the award on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the 44th annual state Congress of the confederation, tagged “Remo 2024”, held at Sagamu Remo, Ogun State, the award recipient thanked the principals for the honour done to him, as he assured of more commitment and total dedication towards improved service delivery in the education sector.
He appreciated all members of the board and the school liaison teams who have all worked tirelessly in ensuring the realisation of the board’s achievement to date.
Mofopefoluwa Joseph, a successful entrepreneur and education enthusiast, is a selfless humanitarian deeply concerned about the state of Nigeria and Nigerians, especially in the education sector and infrastructures as it affects the small scale businessmen. He is an idealist and a dreamer who believes in a collective approach to solving problems and achieving a goal.
Inaugurated as the Chairman of Iperu Remo Education Trust Scheme Management Board on the 24th of November, 2023, the honoree has led the board successfully within its one year of existence with impactful and meaningful achievements that have changed the narrative of education in Iperu.
It is instructive to state that in admiration and acknowledgement of the board’s intervention efforts, education stakeholders recommend it as a template for adoption by other Remo towns.
JOSEPH, a former national president of the Remo Divisional High School, Sagamu Old Students Association, and Chairman/CEO of Salter Weightronix is an incorruptible and versatile businessman; an economist of repute; a resource manager of note; an outstanding community development partner; a man of agreement; a dependable friend; a loving family man; a faithful Christian; a dogged fighter for human rights; a very decisive personality; a genuine and sincere believer in rule of law, equity and justice, transparency and accountability; the progenitor of standardization, accurate and reliable weights and measures in Nigeria; someone who is very fair and honest in relationships; a courageous and indefatigable strategist; a selfless servant-leader par-excellence; a great philanthropist and lover of those who are rich in the Lord.
He has the grace of God upon his life, becoming somebody from nothing in the midst of daunting challenges and oppositions, locally, nationally, and internationally.
As a petty trader, he has become a worthy role model whose philanthropic disposition is limitless, a man of great mindset that once he is convinced of the positivity of the underlying purpose of any endeavour and that such will add values to others’ lives, he is always fully committed.
Mofopefoluwa’s story as captured in his book, ‘A Petty Trader Driven By Purpose’, has shown that with perseverance and trust in God, nothing is impossible, and that the quality of our lives depends on the people we touch along the way.
There, he inspired and gave courage to men and women, particularly the youths who have flair for business but are discouraged due to lack of startup capital, and equally taught those who are already in business to remain focused and work hard.
