FCT Head of Service, Adayilo is dead
The pioneer Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory, Mrs. Grace Adayilo, has passed away.
She was reported to have died in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025.
The development was confirmed by the Special Assistant on Media to the HoS, Anthony Odey, in a brief text message to our correspondent.
“Yes, please,” the message simply read.
Odey, however, gave no further details surrounding the circumstances of her death.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu approved the appointment of Grace Adayilo as the Head of the Civil Service of the FCT on the 6th of October 2024, with the appointment taking effect immediately.
She made history as both the first HoS and the first female HoS of the FCT.
Prior to her appointment, Adayilo held the position of Permanent Secretary at the Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat.
At the time of filing this report, neither her family nor the FCT Administration had issued an official statement.
