Sagamu LG Suspends Construction at Temidire Alaba Market, Ogijo Over Contract Breaches

Sagamu Local Government has ordered the immediate suspension of all construction activities at the Temidire Alaba Market project in Ogijo over breaches of the terms of agreement by the developer, Eliezer Investment Limited.

The directive followed a review by the Local Government which found that aspects of the project execution were inconsistent with the approved framework. According to the council, the developer deviated from the agreed operational model, failed to comply with required regulatory procedures, and did not follow established approval and allocation processes as outlined in the contractual agreement.

The Local Government also disclosed that it received credible information suggesting that the project was being financed in a manner different from earlier representations made by the developer regarding readiness to fund the complete delivery of the market project.

Based on these findings, the council said construction work at the site will remain suspended until all identified issues are resolved and full compliance with the terms of the agreement is achieved.

Sagamu Local Government stated that the action was taken in the interest of the public and to safeguard the integrity of the project, adding that it remains focused on transparency, due process, and orderly development of markets and public infrastructure across the Local Government Area.

The council noted that further updates will be communicated to the public as the situation develops.
