President Lekan Odulate Delivers Inaugural Speech at Sagamu Club’s 2026-2028 Administration
Sagamu, June 21, 2026 — In a notable address at the inauguration meeting held on Sunday, President Lekan Odulate outlined his vision and commitment for the newly elected Sagamu Club administration for the 2026-2028 tenure.
Speaking before distinguished elders, past presidents, and members of the club, Odulate emphasized the importance of community service as the cornerstone of the club’s legacy. “Today marks the official beginning of our collective journey,” he stated. “I did not assume this office to simply maintain the status quo; I did so to honor the sacred foundation of community service upon which this club was established over 47 years ago.”
Highlighting the challenges facing the youth in Sagamu, Odulate expressed concern over the rising influence of crime, cyber delinquency, and a sense of hopelessness among teenagers. He warned that if proactive measures are not taken to engage young people through sports, education, and technology, the community risks spending future years defending itself against their desperation.
The President announced that the new administration has developed a strategic plan aimed at revitalizing community engagement. This plan includes providing textbooks to enhance literacy, promoting sports to instill discipline, and equipping youths with ICT skills to secure their future.
“I have laid out the targets, timelines, and actionable steps,” Odulate remarked. “Now, I call on everyone’s support to work together and ensure that this administration leaves a lasting, positive legacy in the hearts of Sagamu’s youth.”
He concluded with a call for unity and collective effort, urging members to stand together in making a meaningful impact.
