Methodist Church Nigeria Dedicates Chief Theophilus Durojaiye Otesanya Children’s Church and Guest Chalet in Irolu-Remo
The Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Remo, Irolu-Remo, on Saturday, July 4, 2026, officially dedicated the Chief Theophilus Durojaiye Otesanya Children’s Church and Guest Chalet in a colourful ceremony attended by church leaders, members, family, friends, and well-wishers.
The dedication service was officiated by The Rt. Rev. J. M. Bamidele Ibikunle, who led the congregation in prayers, exhortation, and the formal acts of dedication. The programme featured Bible readings from Psalm 121 and Matthew 19:13–15, prayers of invocation, the blessing of the building and water, the naming of the Children’s Church and Guest Chalet, and concluding prayers.
As part of the event, the church also held a 95th Posthumous Birthday Thanksgiving in honour of the late Chief Theophilus Durojaiye Otesanya, whose legacy of service and commitment to the growth of the church was celebrated.
The church steward formally presented the building before the dedication, while the Diocesan Bishop delivered an exhortation, encouraging members to ensure the new facilities are used for the spiritual growth and development of children, hospitality, and the advancement of God’s kingdom.
A goodwill speech was delivered by Sir Engr. Yomi Awodipe, KJW, who commended the vision behind the project and urged members to preserve the facilities for future generations.
The programme concluded with thanksgiving, donations, a vote of thanks, the closing hymn, and the benediction.
The newly dedicated Children’s Church and Guest Chalet are expected to enhance worship, children’s ministry, and accommodation for guests visiting the church, marking another milestone in the development of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Irolu-Remo.
