Residents and road users around Itunsokun Street and the Ijokun Road area have raised concerns over the growing accumulation of refuse along the roadside, calling on relevant authorities to take urgent action to address the situation.The refuse was observed on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at about 4:00 p.m. along the Ijokun roadside and near the entrance to Itunsokun Street. The waste, which had reportedly been dumped by residents and other individuals in the area, had accumulated considerably, creating an unpleasant sight and raising concerns about environmental hygiene.Some residents said they had been expecting a waste disposal truck to evacuate the accumulated refuse. However, the continued presence of the waste has become a source of concern, particularly because of the odour emanating from the decomposing materials.

Residents expressed fears that prolonged exposure to improperly disposed waste could contribute to environmental pollution and increase the risk of sanitation-related health problems, especially if the waste continues to decompose or attracts flies, rodents and other disease-carrying organisms.The situation has also reportedly affected the daily activities of people living and doing business around the area.
