Three Trucks Collide on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun, Eight Escape Unhurt

Eight people escaped unhurt after three trucks were involved in a multiple-vehicle crash along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in the Sinoma outbound-Lagos axis of Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, Ogun State.

The accident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026, and involved a HOWO truck conveying wheat, a DAF truck carrying Vaseline cream and a MAN truck with a gas tanker. According to a traffic and accident situation report from the Mowe-Ibafo Divisional Command of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), the eight occupants of the three trucks were not injured.

TRACE said preliminary findings indicated that the DAF truck rammed into the rear of the HOWO truck, reportedly due to impatience, before the impact affected the MAN truck and gas tanker.

TRACE operatives, alongside the Amotekun Corps and the Police Motor Traffic Division, Sagamu, responded to the scene and managed traffic while the affected vehicles were evacuated. The agency said the DAF truck was towed to the custody of the Police MTD, Sagamu, while the other two trucks were driven away from the carriageway.

Although motorists experienced slow movement during the evacuation, TRACE said the affected trucks were eventually cleared and normal traffic flow resumed.
