Abduction and Rape Survivor Seeks Justice as Perpetrator Awaits Trial

A 17-year-old girl from Igbogila town, Yewa, Ogun State, was abducted and subjected to a horrific ordeal of rape for 14 days. The survivor, Miss Kemi Kudoro, was on her way home from work as a tailor apprentice when she was forcibly taken to an undisclosed location.

During her captivity, she was subjected to multiple acts of sexual assault by two or more men, leaving her in a critical condition.

Passersby who heard her cries for help raised the alarm, leading to the discovery of the survivor. She was found in a weakened state, unable to urinate and barely able to stand. Immediate medical attention was sought, but to the dismay of the doctors, the police officers from Igbogila took her off her hospital admission against their directives.

However, the swift intervention of ADHURIC (Advocate in Defense of Human Right and Culture), one of the perpetrators was apprehended and subsequently transferred to the State Police Headquarters in Eleweran, Ogun State.

As the survivor continues to battle the physical and emotional aftermath of this heinous crime, the suspect remains in police custody, awaiting arraignment in court.

This has terribly affected the health of Mr. Kudoro, who was initially recovering from an illness.

The incident has sparked outrage within the community, with calls for justice and support for the survivor. ADHURIC, along with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), is working tirelessly to ensure that the survivor receives the necessary medical care, counseling, and legal assistance during this challenging time.

The case serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need to address issues of gender-based violence and ensure the safety and protection of women and girls in our society. The community stands united in demanding justice for Miss Kemi Kudoro and in raising awareness about the importance of creating a safe environment for all.
