Akarigbo, Remo Royal Fathers, Adebutu, Other Notable Dignitaries Attends 41st Agan-un Day 2024

 

 

The Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland; Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi was the royal father of the day at the 41st edition of Agan-un Day Celebration 2024.

 

The Agan-un Day Celebration is an exciting and colorful annual event popularly celebrated by the Sons and Daughters of Irolu Remo in Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State. The 41st edition of the festival was held on Saturday, 19th October 2024, at the All Saint’s Anglican Primary School Playing Ground, Irolu Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State.

This year’s Agan-un Day Celebration was themed: Irolu Remo Development: ā€œA Call to Re-Awaken the Giant Within.ā€

 

The Host of the occasion; Onirolu of Irolu Remo; Oba Sikiru Adeilo Adeyiga thanked the Almighty Allah for giving him and his subjects the opportunity to witness the 2024 celebration of the festival peacefully.

The monarch showered his special appreciation on the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland; Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi for his unwavering support and commitment to the development of Irolu Remo in all ramifications.

 

The monarch’s appreciation was also extended to the Odole-Oodua of the Source and Balogun of Remoland; Sir (Dr.) Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu for his support towards the ongoing construction of the new palace project at Irolu Remo.

According to Prince Adebowale Olufowora, who is the Chairman of Irolu (Remo) Development Association, the 41st Agan-un Day Celebration, is a catalyst for promoting the rich cultural heritage, tourism and creative industry of Irolu-Remo.

Prince Olufowora highlighted some community development infrastructure projects under his watch to include security stability, educational initiatives and vocational skill programs, and health/ wellness programs for Irolu Remo youths.

 

The Chairman of the Development Association also disclosed that there is a strong communal bond and love among the citizens of Irolu-Remo both home and abroad.

 

The Chief Guest of honour was the Ogun State Governor; Prince Dapo Abiodun.

 

Other Remo Royal Fathers in attendance were Odofin of Sonyindo; Oba Moibi Samuel Gisanrin, Alaye-Ode of Ode Remo; Oba (Dr.) Surv. Adetunji Amidu Osho, Negbuwa of Ibido; Oba Kolawole Adesina Adeyemi, Onilaye of Ilaye; Oba John Olayinka Odumade, Alagura of Agura; Oba Lukman Allison, Oniraye of Iraye; Oba Moshood Mawelu, Onifojege of Fojege; Oba Nureni Oduwaye, Alariye of Ariye; Oba S. Oyenuga and the Alagbehinsa of Igbehinsa; Oba Isiaka Oluwafemi Ogunnaike,

 

Some notable dignitaries in attendance were the Chairman of the occasion; Hon. Justice Sunday Adeniyi, Chairperson; Chief (Mrs.) Olusola Abisoye, Chief Host; Col. Dele Oyefuga (Rtd), Host; Chief Abdul Rasaq Aderemi Balogun, Chief Launcher; Otunba (Hon.) Lolade Okulowo, Father of the Day; Senator (Otunba) Gbenga Daniel, Hon. (Dr.) Oladipupo Adebutu, Chief (Mrs.) Florence Oyejobi, Prophet Moses Iyanda, Alhaji Bashir Agbegilere Daudu, Engr. Wole Ogunsanya, Chief Omotolani Saheed Adebanjo, Otunba Biodun Aina, Chief of Staff to Akarigbo and Chief Adebayo Onafuwa, Bamofin of Remoland, among others.

 

The festival was also blessed with the presence of a good number of representatives of Olori Remo Association, Association of Lisa of Remoland, traditional chiefs, religious leaders, community leaders, traditional age-groups, clubs, associations, youth associations, artisans associations, amongst others.
