Babcock University Hosts Maiden Invitational Championship Games

Babcock University kicked off its maiden Invitational Championship Games on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, with a colorful opening ceremony. The three-day event, which ends on Friday, June 28, 2024, has brought together five universities, including Babcock University, Bowen University, Adeleke University, Trinity University, and Mountain Top University, to compete in various sporting activities.
The opening ceremony was graced by Professor Ademola S.Tayo, Vice Chancellor of Babcock University, Dr. Folorunsho Akande, University Bursar, Dr. Sunday Audu, Vice President, Student Development, Professor Tolani Williams, Associate Vice President for Student Development, and Dr. Osundina Olasunkanmi, Director of Student Activities, among other dignitaries.
The championship games got off to an exciting start with a match parade, where Bowen University emerged as the winner, followed by Babcock University, Trinity University, and Adeleke University. The opening football match between Adeleke University and Mountain Top University saw Adeleke University emerge victorious with a 2-1 win.
The championship games will continue over the next two days, featuring sports like football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, badminton, scrabble, and track events. The event promises to be a thrilling display of skill, talent, and sportsmanship among the participating universities.
