DMB INSTITUTE, OMOBA DRE GRADUATE 6TH BATCH OF STUDENTS IN COMPUTER, FASHION DESIGN, OTHER VOCATIONAL SKILLS

It was a potpourri of activities as DMB Institute in conjunction with Omoba Dre graduated almost 200 students in its 6th batch of free vocational training in Sagamu, Ogun State on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
The graduating students, who completed training in Computer Science, Fashion Design and other vocational courses, were elated as they celebrated with their parents and well-wishers at the ceremony.
In his opening remarks, the convener of the institute, Honourable Omoba Damilare Bello, popularly known as Hon. Dre, said the initiative was borne out of his personal desire to empower youths with vocational skills as a tool for job creation.
Hon. Bello, who is the member representing Sagamu Constituency 1 in the Ogun State House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-Corruption, said his experience while in the United Kingdom inspired the programme. He narrated how he once lost a job opportunity due to lack of computer skills.
He added that as President of Sagamu Youths in Diaspora, he often returned home to give back to the community through corporate social responsibility, supporting schools with learning materials. On becoming a lawmaker, he saw the need to keep youths, both male and female, off the streets and meaningfully engaged, which led to the establishment of DMB Institute.
According to him, about 800 youths have so far benefited from the free training, with a target to hit 1,000 beneficiaries before the end of the year.
He advised the graduands to make good use of the skills acquired, noting that for those proceeding to the university, the skills would help reduce financial burden on their parents. He also appreciated volunteers who dedicated their time to training the students.
Hon. Dre reiterated his commitment to do more for his constituents if re-elected in 2027 and highlighted some of his constituency projects, including provision of boreholes for potable water, street lights to enhance security, public toilets, among others.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sagamu Local Government lauded Omoba Dre, describing the gesture as beyond politics.
“This is a gesture that has never been done in Sagamu politics,” he said, urging parents and guests present to continue to support him and ensure his re-election for a second term in 2027.
Present at the graduation ceremony were the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Sagamu Local Government, the Organising Secretary, ward chairmen, the Provost of DMB Institute, Hon. Damilare Fasasi, who is also the Director-General of the APC Campaign for Sagamu Constituency 1, party leaders and faithful, parents of the graduands and members of the general public.
