DR. OLUWATOYIN MADEIN FELICITATES MUSLIMS ON SALLAH, REJOICES WITH IPERU COMMUNITY ON 2026 OJUDE OBA CELEBRATION
The First Female Accountant-General of the Federation, Dr. (Mrs.) Oluwatoyin Sakirat MADEIN, PhD, FCA, FCCA, FCNA, FIASP, FPIA, has extended warm felicitations to Nigerians on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-il-Kabir celebration holding on Wednesday, 27th May, 2026. She urged citizens to embrace the core values of Sallah and remain hopeful as the nation collectively strives towards peace, unity, and prosperity.
In her Eid message to Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, Dr. MADEIN described Eid-il-Kabir as a sacred season symbolising love, piety, sacrifice, humility, peace, and selfless service to humanity.
She explained that Eid-il-Kabir, also known as Eid al-Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice, represents absolute obedience, faith, and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
According to her, the festival commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God’s command, while also honouring God’s mercy in providing a ram in place of the child.
Dr. MADEIN who is also the Founder and Chairperson of Olowo Oloye Foundation, noted that the celebration remains a timeless reminder of virtues such as compassion, sacrifice, forgiveness, tolerance, generosity, unity, and unwavering faith, values that are essential for peaceful coexistence and sustainable national development.
She further stated that the festival highlights the importance of selflessness and devotion, teaching believers the need to place obedience to God above worldly attachments and personal interests.
Speaking on the significance of the season, Dr. MADEIN explained that one of the central traditions of Eid-il-Kabir is the observance of Qurbani, the sacrificial offering of animals such as sheep, goats, or cows, with the meat traditionally shared among family members, relatives, friends, and particularly the less privileged in society.
According to her, this practice reflects the spirit of charity, compassion, empathy, and communal support, while encouraging citizens to extend love and assistance to those in need.
She also noted that Eid-il-Kabir coincides with the culmination of the annual Hajj pilgrimage in the holy city of Mecca, one of the Five Pillars of Islam, making the celebration spiritually significant for Muslims across the world.
Dr. MADEIN added that the festival promotes unity, communal harmony, and stronger family ties through prayers, acts of kindness, visitation, and shared meals among friends, neighbours, and loved ones.
“As we celebrate this season of love, piety, sacrifice, and compassion, I urge all Nigerians to reflect these virtues in our daily lives by showing love to one another, supporting the less privileged, promoting peace within our communities, and contributing positively to the growth and progress of our dear nation,” she stated.
MADEIN, an illustrious indigene of Iperu Remo and proud daughter of Remoland and Ogun State, expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future despite prevailing challenges. She acknowledged the concerns surrounding insecurity but reaffirmed her confidence that the country would overcome its current difficulties.
She appealed to Nigerians to continue supporting the efforts of governments at all levels towards restoring peace, safety, and stability across the nation, emphasising that security remains a shared responsibility requiring collective commitment and cooperation.
“Despite the difficulties we face as a nation, I remain optimistic that there is light at the end of the tunnel. With faith in God, purposeful leadership, and collective resolve, Nigeria will emerge stronger, safer, and more prosperous,” she said.
Dr. MADEIN also offered prayers for divine protection over Nigerians both at home and abroad, calling for wisdom for leaders, comfort for the afflicted, peace for troubled communities, and hope for every household.
In the spirit of the season, she encouraged citizens to remain steadfast, united, and hopeful while working together to build a nation founded on justice, equity, peace, and sustainable development.
She wished Nigerians a joyful Eid-il-Kabir celebration filled with renewed faith, good health, peace, and shared prosperity.
Similarly, Dr. MADEIN congratulated the good people of Iperu-Akesanland on the occasion of the 2026 Ojude Oba Celebration scheduled to hold on 29th May 2026 at the Iperu Mini Stadium Complex, Atenda, Iperu Remo.
She rejoiced with the revered members of the Iperu Regency Council, eminent Royal Fathers, the Iperu Akesan Development Association, and the 2026 Ojude Oba Planning Committee.
She equally extended warm regards to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo ABIODUN, CON; the respected Iperu patriarch, Sir Kesington Adebukunola ADEBUTU; and all patriotic sons and daughters of Iperu Akesanland on the celebration of the town’s rich socio-cultural heritage.
Dr. MADEIN prayed that Iperu-Akesanland would continue to grow in unity, peace, and prosperity.
