Emotional, Grand Farewell as Late Chief Pharm Olufunmilayo Oyinade Odusoga is Laid to Rest in Sagamu, Ogun State

Today, November 22nd, 2024, the Cathedral Church of Saint Paul in Sagamu, Ogun State, was filled with tributes and tears as family, friends, and dignitaries gathered to bid a final farewell to the late Chief Pharmacist Olufunmilayo Oyinade Odusoga, affectionately known as the ‘Iya Ewe of Cathedral Church of Saint Paul, Sagamu’ for her unwavering passion and dedication to the welfare of children.
The burial ceremony, a celebration of her life and legacy, honored her remarkable impact on the lives of countless young people and her community, which she touched with love, kindness, and selflessness.
The burial ceremony commenced at 10am with a solemn procession at the Cathedral Church of Saint Paul, which was filled to capacity with mourners who gathered to pay their respects and offer condolences to the family of the late Chief Pharmacist Olufunmilayo Oyinade Odusoga.
The poignant church service featured a service of songs, inspiring sermons, and heartfelt testimonies, all of which celebrated the deceased’s well-lived life and enduring legacy.
Following the church service, the atmosphere shifted to a more somber tone as undertakers, resplendent in traditional attire, emerged to escort the deceased on her final journey. The mournful melodies of a live band, positioned at the front of the church, filled the air as they serenaded the late Chief Pharmacist Olufunmilayo Oyinade Odusoga with poignant farewell songs.
With the church service concluded, the procession then made its way to the cemetery, where the interment process took place, marking the final resting place of the beloved ‘Iya Ewe’.
This was followed by the reception segment at the Innova Place, Gra Sagamu where the renowned musician, Labi Obey, treated the gathering to an uplifting performance, filling the air with lively music as attendees savored meals together, bringing a sense of closure and celebration to the day’s event.
