England National Football Team: Gareth Southgate Steps Down as Manager

Following the team’s narrow defeat in the Euro 2024 final, Gareth Southgate has announced his resignation as manager of the England national football team.

Despite leading the team to a semi-final appearance at the 2018 World Cup and a runner-up finish at Euro 2020, Southgate has chosen to step down.

In a heartfelt statement, he expressed his pride and gratitude for his time with the national team, stating that it has been the honor of his life to play for and manage England.

Moreover, Southgate’s leadership has been credited with revitalizing the team and instilling a sense of national pride. His approach, emphasizing youth development and a progressive style of play, has won him many admirers. Nevertheless, the recent loss in the Euro 2024 final has been a significant blow, leading Southgate to conclude that it is time for change and a new chapter.
