Sagamu – Environmental health officers have visited the GRA road bridge in Sabo, Sagamu, after a news report by Sagamu Update highlighted unsafe food selling practices in the area. The inspection aims to address residents’ worries about the hygiene of food sold openly along the busy road.
During the visit, officers observed vendors selling traditional snacks such as bean cakes (akara) and puff-puff without covering them. The open-air setup allows passing vehicles to raise dust directly onto the food, raising health concerns among residents. A local resident, who frequently uses the route, expressed support for the initiative, hoping that the authorities will enforce proper food handling consistently.
