Euro 2024: Scotland and Poland Exit Tournament After Defeats

Scotland and Poland have become the first countries to be eliminated from Euro 2024, following decisive defeats in their respective group stage matches.

Scotland’s elimination was confirmed after a narrow 0-1 loss to Hungary in their final Group A fixture on Sunday night. The Tartan Army entered the match with only one point, needing a win to secure at least a third-place finish. Despite their efforts, they managed their first shot on target only in the 98th minute. Just two minutes later, Kevin Csoboth scored the decisive goal for Hungary, capitalizing on a cut-back to finish calmly. This victory moved Hungary up to third place in Group A, giving them a chance to progress to the last 16.

Meanwhile, Poland’s fate was sealed before Scotland’s match. Poland’s elimination came after a goalless draw between France and the Netherlands on Friday night, which left Poland unable to advance from their group.
