FAECO Engages Tailors’ Union on Artisans’ Concerns and Local Development

The 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, Hon. Mrs. Olufunmilayo Efuwape, popularly known as FAECO, has reaffirmed her commitment to grassroots development following an interactive meeting with executives of the Nigeria Union of Tailors, Sagamu Branch.

The meeting was held on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the union’s secretariat on Sofola Street, Sabo, Sagamu. The delegation was led by the branch chairman, Chief Banjo Abraham, and brought together FAECO and representatives of the local tailoring community for discussions on issues affecting artisans and the wider constituency.

The session offered an opportunity for the union’s executives to share their perspectives, concerns and aspirations. Discussions also focused on the role of local businesses and skilled trades in community development, as well as the importance of ensuring that artisans’ voices are heard in conversations about the future of the constituency.

FAECO’s engagement with the union reflects the value of direct dialogue between political leaders and professional associations. Such meetings can help deepen understanding of the day-to-day challenges facing workers and business owners, while creating space to discuss practical ways to support livelihoods and strengthen the local economy.

Tailors and other artisans contribute to Sagamu’s commercial and community life through their skills, services and enterprises. Building stronger connections with these groups is an important part of inclusive representation, particularly as political leaders engage residents ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting also forms part of FAECO’s broader effort to maintain contact with community stakeholders and hear from people across different sectors. By meeting with the union’s executives, she sought to encourage continued conversation about local needs, economic opportunity and the welfare of constituents.

The engagement concluded with a shared emphasis on constructive communication and the importance of working together to advance grassroots development. FAECO’s team said she remains committed to strengthening relationships with community groups and listening to the concerns of residents throughout the constituency.

The discussion with the Sagamu tailors’ leadership marks another opportunity for the APC candidate to engage directly with local stakeholders as preparations continue ahead of the 2027 elections.
