Federal Government Initiates Repairs on Lagos-Abeokuta Road
The Federal Government has commenced emergency repairs on the 7-kilometer stretch of the critical route. This development comes after years of neglect, which has resulted in increased travel times and safety concerns for motorists and residents.
According to Uchenna Orji, Special Adviser Media to the Minister of Works, the repair initiative is part of the Federal Ministry of Works’ broader strategy under the ‘Operation Free Our Roads’ program. This program aims to enhance the condition of federal roadways nationwide.
Orji emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing pressing infrastructure issues affecting commuters. “The road has been bad for some time, and the Federal Ministry of Works is bringing relief on the dilapidated sections in conjunction with the concessionaire,” he stated.
