FG Grants Monetary Reward for Exhibitors, Store Owners at Ogun MSME Clinics

 

Federal Government has declared a cash reward of N150,000 for each exhibitor participating in the 2nd edition of the national Micro, Small, and Mediium Enterprises (MSME) clinic. As, over 200 new store owners at the Modern Adire Shared Facility in the Adire International Market, Asero, Abeokuta, are set to receive a grant of N100,000 each.

 

The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, disclosed this groundbreaking initiative on Tuesday at the 2nd Extended National MSME Clinics, held at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta. He highlighted the clinic’s role as a vital link between the government and the people, serving as a lifeline for enterprises in Ogun State and across the nation.

Addressing the gathering, Senator Shettima stated, “Each exhibitor present at the clinic today stands to gain from our MSME instant grant of N150,000 each, courtesy of our esteemed private sector and His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

 

He further announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directed the granting of almost 200 new applications within the market free of charge, providing small business traders with a one-year grant of N100,000 each.

 

Senator Shettima commended the commitment of the Government, acknowledging Ogun State as an industrial powerhouse and a steadfast supporter of federal government initiatives for enterprise development and empowerment.

 

The Vice President emphasized the strategic importance of the Expanded MSME Clinics, serving as a platform for businesses to present challenges, seek timely intervention from monetary agencies, and eliminate the complexity of navigating through multiple agencies.

 

In his response, Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun highlighted the state’s efforts, including the Small and Medium Enterprises Industrial Land Acquisition Scheme (SILAS), a 1,000-hectare industrial hub with essential amenities to support SMEs.

 

Governor Abiodun outlined incentives such as conditional grants, tax rebates, and other benefits provided by the SME park. He further announced the state’s commitment to offering incentives, including conditional grants to MSME, financial support to SMEs, and assistance to market women.

 

The Special Adviser to the Vice President on Small and Medium Enterprises, Mr. Tola Adekunle Johnson, acknowledged the collaborative efforts between federal and state governments, with Ogun and Benue being the beneficiaries of the program so far.

 

The state Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela, encouraged participants to leverage the clinics to address challenges and foster the growth of their businesses.

 

The Vice President inaugurated the Modern Adire Shared Facility at Adire International Market Asero and the National MSME Clinics, Ultra-Modern Fashion Hub, Ajebo Road, both in Abeokuta, as part of the event.
