Governor Abiodun Charges New Oba Oloke of Oke-Ona Emuren to Champion Investment Drive in Sagamu

The newly installed Oloke of Oke-Ona Emuren, Oba Kehinde Hassan Bilau, alongside the people of his community, has been charged to serve as vanguard champions of the Ogun State Government’s investment drive, with a mandate to ensure that development and prosperity flourish within Oke-Ona Emuren and beyond.

The charge was given by the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, at the official presentation of the staff of office and instrument of appointment to Oba Kehinde, held in Oke-Ona Emuren, Sagamu Local Government Area.

The instruments of office were presented on behalf of the Governor by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Honorable Ganiyu Hamzat, who confirmed that the appointment took effect from Friday, 14th August 2026, in accordance with Section 22(1) of the Obas and Chiefs Law of Ogun State of Nigeria.

Also in attendance at the ceremony were H.R.M Oba Olukayode Raji, the Eweye of Isiu, and H.R.M Oba Adebogun Odubeko, the Alapeje of Apeje, alongside Baales and Chiefs from within and around the community.

Speaking at the event, chiefs of the community expressed confidence that Oba Kehinde would deploy his resources and connections toward improving the welfare and development of Oke Ona. The Olootu Omoba of Emuren, Otunba Bola Taiwo, described the occasion as one that would usher in prosperity and progress for the people. In a similar vein, the Olisa of Emuren, Chief Olakunle Ogunyemi, noted that the development represented significant expansion and would translate to more growth for Oke Ona.

Responding, Oba Kehinde Hassan Bilau expressed his appreciation to the state government and the people of Oke-Ona Emuren for their support, pledging to work assiduously to uphold the community’s traditions, promote unity among the people, and drive progress and development across Oke-Ona.
