Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has officially sworn in the newly elected chairmen of the 30 local government councils across the state. The ceremony, held in the presence of key political figures, marked the conclusion of a year-long democratic process.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Senator Bala Muhammad of Bauchi State, and Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde. During the ceremony, Governor Adeleke led a minute of silence in honor of victims of what he described as the “illegal APC takeover” of local government secretariats.

In his address, the governor congratulated the newly elected officials and urged them to uphold the principles of good governance in their respective councils. He emphasized the importance of aligning their policies with the manifesto of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and encouraged them to be proactive agents of change and community development.

Adeleke also commended the people of Osun State for their unwavering support and participation in the electoral process. He acknowledged the challenges faced during the elections but praised their determination to uphold democracy.

Furthermore, he lauded the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) for its adherence to electoral laws and for conducting a successful election. Addressing legal concerns surrounding the polls, the governor expressed confidence that the elections were conducted within the framework of the law and the constitution.
