Hon. Prince Waliu Oladipupo Balogun Installed as Olori Ilu Okebere

Hon. Prince Waliu Oladipupo Balogun was installed as Olori Ilu Okebere on Thursday 17th October 2024 by the Akarigbo and Paramount ruler of Remoland, Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi. It was a moment of rejoicing and celebration as his wife, children, family members and well wishers came to celebrate him on this great achievement and another opportunity to serve his community and people better.

 

The Akarigbo during the installation charged him to significantly uphold the culture of the land, and see to the improvement and growth of his society as that is pivotal and the main aim of bringing him in that capacity. The Akarigbo also charged him to ensure he operates within the confines of the traditional and governmental laws in his doings.

 

Hon. Prince Waliu showed enthusiasm about the new responsibility he got as the Olori Ilu Okebere, and he promised to do everything necessary to develop the Okebere community. “This is a time for me to be happy and celebrate, but also a time for me to realize that I now have a new responsibility to serve the people of my community. This is great, and I’ll ensure I do everything possible to develop the standard of Okebere community” Prince Waliu stated.

The installation was concluded with a street parade traditionally called “Ikose”, where Prince Waliu and other installed chiefs visited some significant locations to perform some traditional rites, followed by their families and strictly conducted and directed by the “Ajiroba”.

The successful installation of Prince Waliu Oladipupo Balogun as Olori Ilu Okebere marks a new era of growth, development, and cultural preservation for the Okebere community. With his commitment and the support of his family and well-wishers, the Okebere community looks forward to a brighter future under his leadership.
