Idado Kingdom has commenced its highly anticipated Lidero Celebration and Festival, a week-long event packed with exciting activities.

The festival kicked off on Saturday, September 14th, with the performance of Lidero rites and community prayers. The Radanuwa of idado Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile and Queen of Idado Kingdom took to their thrones, receiving the Oluwo and his entourage, who offered words of prayer. The atmosphere was palpable, with drummers setting the mood outside the palace.

In a symbolic gesture, the King, Queen, Apena Idado, Olori Alase, Oluwo Ilu Idado, and Alase Idado proceeded to the shrine to perform the Lidero rites. The concerned priest made necessary sacrifices to the god, Lidero (Agemo), paving the way for the community prayers.

The royal entourage then embarked on a tour of designated houses, where the King was welcomed in the traditional way, followed by prayers and the exchange of cash gifts. This ritual was repeated at several locations, including the residences of prominent community members and institutions such as Alpha Clinic.

The festival was declared open at the palace, with singing and dancing.
