Igboho, Ayinde Accuses Adams of Alleged Assassination
Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, and the Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Mr Tayo Ayinde, have both issued threats of legal action against the Aare Ona Kakanfo, Iba Gani Adams, over allegations of plotting assassination.
In separate pre-action letters by their lawyers, Igboho and Ayinde demanded that Adams retract the assassination claim against them or face legal consequences.
The controversy arose from a press release issued by Igboho, responding to allegations against him in a viral voice note attributed to Adams. The voice note allegedly accused Ayinde of hiring Igboho to assassinate Adams.
In the pre-action letter to Adams, Ayinde’s lawyer, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN), demanded a retraction of the allegation, describing it as injurious to Ayinde’s reputation. Olumide-Fusika emphasized the seriousness of the accusation and urged Adams to retract it voluntarily to avoid legal action.
Also, Igboho’s lawyer, J.A. Sanusi, addressed a letter to Adams demanding a retraction of the allegations made against Igboho in the viral voice note. Sanusi highlighted the economic and reputational damage caused by the false accusations and requested a retraction on social media platforms where the allegations were made.
