IHS Partners Spires 5-Aside Ahead of October Lagos Championship
Telecommunications infrastructure company IHS has partnered with the Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer Tournament ahead of the 2026 Lagos State Championship scheduled for October.
The partnership was unveiled in Lagos on Wednesday in collaboration with the Lagos State Sports Commission, with its Director-General, Lekan Fatodu, and other officials in attendance.
Speaking at the event, Spires Media Public Relations Manager, Victor Ottah, said the collaboration is expected to expand the tournament beyond football through initiatives aimed at engaging players and communities.
Ottah said IHS would support the project with innovations designed to strengthen the tournament’s impact, noting the company’s involvement in telecommunications infrastructure across Nigeria.
The Lagos State Sports Commission pledged its support for the 2026 championship, while Spires Media expressed optimism that the partnership would further enhance the tournament.
The third season of the Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer Tournament is scheduled to begin on October 24, with 16 teams from five Lagos divisions expected to compete in the state championship.
