Leeds Beat Newcastle 4-1 to Move Third in Premier League

 

Leeds United secured a 4-1 victory over Newcastle United at Elland Road on Monday, continuing their strong start to the Premier League season.

 

Leeds opened the scoring in the first half when Newcastle midfielder Lewis Miley turned the ball into his own net. Jayden Bogle then extended Leeds’ lead before Dominic Calvert-Lewin added a third goal before half-time.

 

Noah Okafor scored Leeds’ fourth shortly after the restart, putting the hosts firmly in control. Newcastle managed to reduce the deficit late in the match when Bazoumana Touré scored, but Leeds maintained their advantage until the final whistle.

 

The victory lifted Leeds to third place in the Premier League table, while Newcastle left Elland Road with a 4-1 defeat.

 

The result gives Leeds another important three points as they continue their campaign, while Newcastle will look to respond in their next league fixture.
