MADEIN TO CELEBRATE 61ST BIRTHDAY WITH BOOK PRESENTATION AND FOUNDATION LAUNCH ON SATURDAY MARCH 7, 2026

A landmark three-in-one celebration will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in honour of Dr. Oluwatoyin Sakirat MADEIN, the first female Accountant-General of the Federation of Nigeria, as she marks her 61st birthday alongside the public presentation of her new book and the official launch of her foundation.
The event which holds at the Marriott Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, will feature the formal unveiling of her book titled “BEYOND THE LEDGER – A JOURNEY IN PUBLIC FINANCE AND GOVERNANCE: Musings of the First Female Accountant-General of Nigeria.”
The publication chronicles her over three decades of distinguished service in Nigeria’s public financial management system, offering insights into fiscal governance, institutional reforms, and leadership within the Federal Civil Service.
In the same vein, the Olowo Oloye Foundation for Empowerment and Education will be officially launched. The Foundation is a non-governmental organisation established in memory of his late dad, Pa Surakat SANNI (aka Olowo Oloye), to support vulnerable populations, promote access to education, empower women and youth, and advance sustainable community development initiatives. The initiative underscores Dr. MADEIN’s enduring commitment to social impact and inclusive development.
The celebration also marks one year since her retirement from the Federal Civil Service, concluding an exemplary career defined by discipline, integrity, and transformational leadership in public finance administration.
Dr. MADEIN’s appointment as Accountant-General of the Federation represented a historic milestone in Nigeria’s financial governance landscape, breaking a long-standing gender barrier and broadening opportunities for women in public sector leadership. Throughout her tenure, she strengthened financial systems, enhanced accountability frameworks, and supported effective policy implementation through sound fiscal management practices.

Over the course of her career, Dr. MADEIN served in various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), including the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Family Economic Advancement Programme, National Poverty Eradication Programme, and the Federal Ministries of Police Affairs; Commerce and Industries; Works and Housing; Youth and Sports Development; as well as the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
A devoted wife and a loving mother, Dr. Oluwatoyin is happily married to her soulmate, Engr. Adeleke Olusina MADEIN, and the union is blessed with four wonderful children, Titilope, Ayomipo, Abayomi, and Ifeoluwa.
Dignitaries expected to grace the event, according to a release from the planning committee signed by the Chairman, Dr. Joke SOFOWORA, include Prince Dapo ABIODUN, Governor of Ogun State, the Special Guest of Honour; His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Babatunde Adewale AJAYI, Torungbuwa II, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland as Royal Father of the Day; while Aremo Olusegun OSOBA, former Governor of Ogun State, is the Father of the Day; and Dr. (Mrs.) Oluremi ARIBISALA, the pioneer Director General of Raw Materials Research and Development Council is the Mother of the Day.
The list also include Sir Kesington Adebukunola ADEBUTU, the Balogun and Babaoba of Iperu Akesanland, and the Odole of Ife as the Chairman and Chief Launcher; while Dr. (Mrs.) Folasade YEMI-ESAN, former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation shall serve as the Book Reviewer.
