MultiChoice Nigeria Announces Price Hike for DStv and GOtv Subscriptions

MultiChoice Nigeria has announced a price adjustment for its DStv and GOtv subscription packages, set to take effect from March 1, 2025.
In a statement signed by Chief Executive Officer John Ugbe, the company attributed the price increase to “prevalent economic factors leading to increased operational costs.” While acknowledging the potential impact on customers, MultiChoice assured subscribers that the decision followed careful consideration and analysis.
Under the new pricing structure, DStv Premium subscribers will now pay 44,500, while Compact+ and Compact packages will cost 30,000 and 19,000, respectively. Other adjustments include Confam at 11,000, Yanga at 6,000, and Padi at 4,400.
For GOtv users, the Supa Plus package has been revised to 16,800, Supa to 11,400, and Max to 8,500. The Jolli, Jinja, and Smallie packages now stand at 5,800, 3,900, and 1,900, respectively.
MultiChoice reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality entertainment despite the price hike. “It has always been our mission to offer the best entertainment to our esteemed customers, and we remain committed to continuing high-quality content and unparalleled service,” the statement read.
The announcement comes amid rising concerns from Nigerian consumers over the increasing cost of living. Some subscribers have expressed frustration over the price hike, while others hope MultiChoice will introduce more affordable options in the future.
The new rates will officially take effect on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
