Nigeria’s July Crude Output Falls to 1.505m bpd, Still Above OPEC Quota
Nigeria’s crude oil production declined in July 2026 but remained slightly above its Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) quota for the third consecutive month, according to the latest data from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).
NUPRC data showed that Nigeria produced an average of 1.505 million barrels of crude oil per day in July, compared with its 1.5 million bpd OPEC quota. This represents a marginal excess of about 5,000 barrels per day.
The July crude output was lower than the 1.56 million bpd recorded in June. When condensate production of about 170,000 bpd is included, Nigeria’s combined crude and condensate output stood at approximately 1.67 million bpd in July.
NUPRC attributed the decline mainly to operational challenges at the Erha and Akpo oil fields, which affected production during the month. The commission said production activities at most other producing assets remained relatively stable.
